Commercial Director 

UK wide 

Salary:   £110,00 to £130,000 dependent on experience.

Bonus:   Company bonus scheme

Benefits:  Company Car, Pension, Healthcare  

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the main board and owners of a respected contracting business.
  • Management of a team of surveying staff working for the business nationally
  • Business lead for dispute resolution helping the company to develop processes which avoid disputes.
  • Undertaking both a hands-on and strategic role in the management and development of the commercial aspects of the business
  • Developing collaborative relationships with new and existing clients, staff, departments, group companies and suppliers
  • In-house training and mentoring of commercial teams and junior staff

Experience Required

  • Able to lead a commercial team
  • Ideallly a strong main or sub contracting element to your career
  • Degree qualified in quantity surveying or equivalent ideally with additional qualifications in construction law. 
  • Someone used to working closely with construction lawyers or the legal process
  • Extensive knowledge of contracts in particular JCT and NEC
  • Good level oral and written English language skills
  • A career ideally demonstrating progression, teamwork, technical aptitude.
  • Experience of claims/avoidance, dispute resolution or as an expert witness
