North Gate are proud to be supporting a respected and long-established dispute resolution, expert witness and advisory consultancy which has been a mainstay of the UK dispute resolution sector for many years. Privately owned, it is admired for its service, integrity and quality. We currently seek a Managing Director for their expert witness business. The role offers exceptional short and long term prospects and opportunity for the successful incumbent.
Responsibilities:
- Leading a dispute resolution and expert witness team
- Management of a team of experienced experts and consultants
- Providing Expert Witness testimony and support to a broad client base in the legal, construction and engineering sector
- Working on behalf of main contractors, law firms and employers on high value £multi-million disputes / arbitrations
- Becoming a key member of the leadership of the business
- Undertaking both a hands on and strategic role
- Developing collaborative relationships with new and existing clients.
- Assisting with the attraction, development and retention of new and existing staff
Experience Required
- Someone enthusiastic about the dispute resolution sector with integrity and commercial awareness
- Appointed as an Expert Witness in quantum, delay or engineering
- Someone who enjoys business management, strategy and development
- Someone who has ideally been cross-examined and understands the court process
- Demonstrable ability to generate work from new and existing clients
- Degree qualified ideally with additional qualifications in construction law. Ideally chartered.
- Your technical background is likely to be in quantity surveying, engineering or project planning/management
- Someone used to working closely with respected clients on complex or sensitive work.
- A confident and articulate communicator with high level oral and written English language skills.
