North Gate are proud to be supporting a respected and long-established dispute resolution, expert witness and advisory consultancy which has been a mainstay of the UK dispute resolution sector for many years. Privately owned, it is admired for its service, integrity and quality. We currently seek a Managing Director for their expert witness business.   The role offers exceptional short and long term prospects and opportunity for the successful incumbent. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a dispute resolution and expert witness team
  • Management of a team of experienced experts and consultants
  • Providing Expert Witness testimony and support to a broad client base in the legal, construction and engineering sector
  • Working on behalf of main contractors, law firms and employers on high value £multi-million disputes / arbitrations
  • Becoming a key member of the leadership of the business
  • Undertaking both a hands on and strategic role
  • Developing collaborative relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Assisting with the attraction, development and retention of new and existing staff

Experience Required

  • Someone enthusiastic about the dispute resolution sector with integrity and commercial awareness
  • Appointed as an Expert Witness in quantum, delay or engineering
  • Someone who enjoys business management, strategy and development 
  • Someone who has ideally been cross-examined and understands the court process
  • Demonstrable ability to generate work from new and existing clients
  • Degree qualified ideally with additional qualifications in construction law. Ideally chartered.
  • Your technical background is likely to be in quantity surveying, engineering or project planning/management
  • Someone used to working closely with respected clients on complex or sensitive work.
  • A confident and articulate communicator with high level oral and written English language skills.
