Quantity Surveyor (cost consultancy) – Oxford

Our client is a respected and established, multi-disciplinary construction project management and cost consultancy firm, with experience in new builds, refurbishments, roll-out programs, and sustainability-focused maintenance projects. They currently seek a Quantity Surveyor for cost consultancy team in Oxford. Here you'll help deliver an exceptional service to clients such as landlords, developers, financial organizations and retailers. This position involves general cost management with opportunities to work alongside M&E Cost Managers to further develop your specialist expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating costs and advising on alternative proposals
  • Advising on contract arrangements and construction implications.
  • Supporting pre- and post-contract work for clients and contractors.
  • Assisting on implications of different construction methods, materials etc.
  • Contributing to sustainability and energy reduction initiatives.

Requirements

  • Ideally a minimum 2 years of Quantity Surveying experience within construction, ideally in cost consultancy.
  • Ideally some experience in commercial new builds, refurb/fit out and retail refurb/fit out roll-out projects but not essential.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field. Someone keen to continue professional development with the support of the company. Strong numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, confident, and tech-savvy with a passion for construction.
  • Ideally an interest in using technology for design work, calculations, and testing designs
  • A passion for building your career within construction and design.
